NRLW Late Mail: Finals Week 1 - Whitfeld on track

North Queensland star Jakiya Whitfeld is on track to make her return from a shoulder injury in Saturday's semi-final against the Sharks.

The Jillaroo has missed the past two games but coach Ricky Henry declared she will be back on deck for the game at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

"I mentioned last week she could've played [in Round 11]," Henry said. "She's excited to get back on the park. She'll come back into fullback. It's a big in for us, having her back fit and healthy."

Whitfeld is one of a host of big names looking to return this week, with Newcastle expected to welcome back fullback Bo Vette-Welsh for their sudden-death clash with the Titans.

Knights: Prop Tayla Predebon is on track to line up in Saturday's semi-final despite picking up a calf injury in last week's win over the Dragons, while Bo Vette-Welsh is set to complete her comeback from a concussion. Young gun Keighley Simpson is set for her second NRLW game after entering the fray as 18th player last week, however Lilly-Ann White remains in the reserves if Ben Jeffries opts for more experience in his backline.

Titans: Jasmine Solia is set to start at second-row after being cleared of a shoulder injury. Georgia Grey will line up in the centres in her return from a concussion, with emerging centre Sarina Masaga is also a chance of making a comeback from a head knock and is part of the extended squad. Hooker Brittany Breayley-Nati was named on the bench but could come into the starting side on game day, as was the case last weekend.

Tahlulah Tillett is set to return to the starting side after Ricky Henry made a bold call to change his halves just days out from the must-win clash. Essay Banu has been named on the bench but is expected to come into the starting side, as she has done on multiple occasions this year.

Sharks: Rhiannon Byers is set to complete her comeback from a back injury and has been named on the bench for Saturday's clash in Townsville. Halfback Chantay Kiria-Ratu is set to battle through a knee injury suffered in Round 11 and take her place in the team.
