This Queensland derby has a history of producing special games and fans will be hoping for more of the same when the Titans host the Broncos.

Last year's minor premiers Brisbane are at the top of the ladder after one round following their strong win over Wests Tigers, while the home side will be hoping to make improvements after they went down to the Cowboys last week.

While they are missing a heap of experience this year with representative players Shannon Mato and Evania Is'sako out for the season due to pregnancy, the senior players including Jaime Chapman, Georgia Hale and Lauren Brown gave their all, but the team couldn't ice their opportunities when they came.

The Broncos however overcame a tight first half to show their class in the second, with Kiwi rugby convert Kerri Johnson scoring a double in her second game of rugby league.

Team News

Titans: Injuries have forced Karyn Murphy into a number of changes. With winger Destiny Mino-Sinapati (syndesmosis) out, Lily Patston comes in for her NRLW debut. Taliah Fuimaono moves from five-eighth to hooker for Brittany Breayley-Nati (fractured collarbone). Pauline Piliae-Rasabale is the new No.6 partnering with Lauren Brown in the halves, with Lily Kolc coming onto the bench. Canada Ravens representative Megan Pakulis will also make a fairytale NRLW debut, named on the bench in place of Dannii Perese. Pakulis was one of the winners of the Las Vegas Combine in 2024, going on to play a season in the UK Super League before joining with the Titans this year.

Broncos: Only one change to the team that posted a win over Wests Tigers last round, with highly regarded youngster Reegan Hicks coming onto the bench in place of Tafito Lafaele. Hicks, who can play second row and prop, recently co-captained the Queensland Under 19 side in their representative match, scoring their opening try.
