The Raiders and Sharks are each chasing their first win of the season when they face off on Saturday afternoon.

The Sharks will make the trip to the nation's capital after a tense loss to the Eels in Round 1 and coach Tony Herman is confident they will quickly hit their straps.

Captain Tiana Penitani Gray shapes as a key figure in the backline, with emerging centre Annessa Biddle also providing an attacking threat on the right edge.

The Raiders have the luxury of two home games to open the season and they're desperate to bounce back from last week's loss to the Dragons.

The challenge doesn't get any easier, however, as they prepare to host last year's grand finalists.

A victory will send a major statement that the Raiders are a genuine contender and they will burst out of the blocks at GIO Stadium.

Team News

Raiders: Fiji Bulikula representative Sereana Naitokatoka returns from suspension to partner with halfback Zahara Temara in the halves in the only change to the Raiders line-up. Last week's debutant five-eighth Georgia Thomas reverts to the reserves.

Sharks: With the unfortunate news that Filomina Hanisi is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury in the loss against the Eels last week, Stephanie Faulkner comes onto the bench in the only change to the line-up. The middle forward is in line to make her NRLW debut.
