Bright Connections, Bright Futures: School to Work x Dragons Careers Day Inspires the Next Generation

On May 14, the energy was electric in Wollongong as the second annual School to Work x Dragons Careers Day brough together local high school students and a dynamic mix of future employers for a day of inspiration, connection, and opportunity.

Hosted in partnership with the NRL Dragons, this year’s event built on the success of its 2023 debut — offering even more engaging activities and industry insights to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students explore the many pathways available after school.

From fast-paced speed networking sessions to genuine one-on-one conversations, students had the chance to hear directly from representatives of major organisations including Transport for NSW, Coles, Westpac, BlueScope, Defence Australia, and more. These interactions provided a real-world glimpse into a variety of careers, opening minds and sparking ambitions.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the incredible providers who gave their time and wisdom, and to the S2W crew whose commitment makes events like this possible. Your dedication to our young mob is shaping a brighter future — one connection at a time.

We’re already looking ahead to 2026, with big plans to grow the event and bring even more opportunities to the next generation of leaders, workers, and changemakers.
