About League Stars Inspire?

About League Stars Inspire?

Rugby League is a powerful vehicle for inspiring positive change in our communities. Our aim is to inspire people to healthy, respectable and active lifestyles. Guided by our pillars of Health & Wellbeing (Pillar 2), Respect, Inclusion, Diversity and Social Cohesion (Pillar 3), the Inspire series provides hands on learning modules for students and teachers to gain invaluable knowledge to implement in their learning environment.

There is close alignment between what children learn in school about health, Respect, Diversity and physical education and what the game provides, both on and off the field. The NRL INSPIRE – Respect, Health & Wellbeing and Inclusion/Diversity program aims to provide interactive learning experiences that inspire our young people.

The Inspire series targets primary school-aged children (Year 3-6) to develop and apply the knowledge and understandings, skills, attitudes and values that are central to these three focus areas – using the game of rugby league as the vehicle for engaging learning experiences.

The Inspire resource has been developed to support and guide those involved in the NRL to deliver to primary school-aged children important messages about attitudes and values and skills related to three key focus areas:

  • Respect: Respecting oneself, others and what it means to develop and maintain respectful relationships.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, resilience and a positive mind and approach to life and its many and different challenges and opportunities.
  • Inclusion/Diversity: Having an appreciation of the qualities of others and a positive attitude towards difference.
