Nearly 2,000 New Jobs for The City

The investment made by Hard Rock International in Ottawa is expected to create around 1,900 new jobs in the region, including direct and indirect construction jobs, plus ongoing employment opportunities.

Mark Sutcliffe, the Mayor of Ottawa, described the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino as “a significant investment in the south end” of the city. The mayor appreciated the fact that the casino will create new jobs and also become “a great tourist attraction in Ottawa.”

With the occasion of the start of the building process, Future Hard Rock donated 20,000 Canadian dollars to Minwaashin Lodge, a nearby shelter for Indigenous women, in recognition of the construction ceremony at Rideau Carleton Casino.

Representatives of the company explained: “Hard Rock International, which is wholly owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, is fully committed to supporting local and Indigenous organizations through charitable donations, sponsorships and partnerships.”
